Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team at Autodesk Shanghai. Autodesk ACS (Autodesk Construction Solutions) R&D team is looking for a hands-on, experienced engineering manager to lead a team and develop world class cloud-based software products and solutions to solve interesting problems in the construction industry.
As an ideal candidate, you have managed a development team developing modern web applications and have demonstrated hands-on experience with DevOps and Observability tools. You are comfortable in an agile environment and know how to build and guide a highly effective and high-performing team. You will work with our developers, product managers and designers to deliver products that will help our customers imagine bigger, collaborate smarter, move faster, and create the new possible. Most of all, you can inspire a team to do great things.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for business outcomes for the teams as well as engineering excellence
- Inspire, motivate, and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity, optimal creativity, and efficiency
- Lead and mentor developers to develop their careers and achieve individual success
- Continually improve the availability, performance, scalability, and security of our products
- Coordinate with other teams, on engineering best practices and dependencies and business outcomes
- Translate customer, business, and technical requirements into deliverables aligned with stakeholder needs
- Act as the voice of the team and champion their accomplishments with upper management and adjacent teams
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelors/MS/Ph.D. in a related field (software engineering, computer science, statistics, etc.)
- Proven hands-on experience in the industry involved in designing and developing SaaS and web applications.
- Familiar with Node.js/JavaScript, can consider candidate with Java background
- Knowledge and experience with web technology stack, cloud computing, and cloud database technologies
- Knowledge in building secure and resilient cloud services
- 3-5 years of experience in leading, mentoring, and managing development teams, or other similar leadership roles with at least 2 years of people management experience
- Collaborative, respectful, and thoughtful leader who is interested to work in a diverse and global team
- Good English oral communication and good English writing skill
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of the following technologies: ReactJS, Python, Django, and Docker
- Strong knowledge of cloud service platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Strong foundation on test automation

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.
